We propose that Bentley consider providing support for integrating ProjectWise Web View (& the Web Service Gateway) with Microsoft Entra Application Proxy, which offers several advantages:
Eliminates the Need for a DMZ Configuration:
Using Microsoft Entra Application Proxy removes the requirement to place the Web Service Gateway server in a DMZ and reduces the complexity of managing perimeter firewalls.
Cost Efficiency:
As our organization already subscribes to Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure Active Directory), this integration would avoid the upfront and ongoing costs associated with maintaining a DMZ infrastructure for the Web Service Gateway.
Enhanced Security and Analytics:
With network traffic terminating at Microsoft Entra, the solution leverages enterprise-grade security protections, including robust auditing and analytics capabilities, ensuring a secure and well-monitored environment for ProjectWise Web View.
The suggested integration aligns with modern security practices and would provide a seamless, cost-effective, and secure solution for ProjectWise Web View access.
