Hi Team,
At present, when generating a link to older document versions, the file name in the link correctly includes the version suffix, for example:
XXX-XX_XX... (Version P15)
However, when generating a link for the active version, the version suffix is no longer included. This used to appear and was extremely useful for our internal record‑keeping, revision tracking, and supply‑chain communication—especially for files that undergo frequent updates.
We have noticed from your published “What’s New” notes (March 2026) that this behaviour was intentionally changed:
“Links to the latest version of a document no longer display the version in a formatted link. Links to older versions continue to display the version of the linked document.”
While we understand the change, this removal has introduced challenges for managing accurate revision histories across our Excel registers and supply‑chain workflows.
We would like to request reinstatement of the previous behaviour, or addition of an option, so that:
The version suffix is displayed on the link name even for the active version, consistent with how previous versions are handled.
This small change would significantly improve clarity and prevent confusion when documents are revised frequently, as is the case across our programme.
Please let us know if this can be considered for a future update or if any workarounds exist in the meantime.
Thank you in advance.
Kind regards,
Adam
