In PW we can not move documents because this action lose the current states of these documents. We do not agree with this behaviour for that reasons:
In a management document system if one user progress a document throught the work flow in a wrong folder, you have to be able to move the document to the correct one with not loosing any attributes (state included).
Working with documents in the way that ProjectWise is intented to be means that any folder reorganization will change the previous document states, losing all the document traceability.
For example one of our states is "customer approved" if we lose this information we will have critical issues when managing documents with customers in projects.
Recreating again all the workflow in a moved document, means the information about that document will be falsified information (different dates in the actions, different actors progressing the workflow...)
We don´t understand how ProjectWise can keep all the attributes except the state.
If this is the regular use of this command, we cannot see why it is active the option "move" in a folder with workflows (its better to disable the command "move").
Maintaining all the information related to a document is a critical issue in a project's lifecycle. If moving a document from one folder to another means losing that information, ProjectWise should at least warn you about this mistake. Thanks
